No Ads Simplest Metronome Support
A metronome with no ads, no account and no settings screen. The circle in the middle of the screen pulses at the very moment you hear each click, as strongly as the click is loud. For iPhone with iOS 17 or later.
How to use it
The app shows no instructions of its own. This is everything it does.
- Tap the circle
- Start or stop.
- Hold the circle
- Tap a tempo: the circle quivers like jelly. Tap the circle along with a song or the tempo in your head, and each beat of that tempo comes back to you as a vibration (no sound while you tap). When you stop tapping, the clicks come in faintly at that tempo and reach their usual volume in about six seconds.
- While tapping a tempo, tap outside the circle
- Keeps the tempo at once and goes back to playing as usual. With no tempo tapped yet (one tap or none), it stops.

- Change the tempo by one. Hold to keep changing.
- Drag the tempo number
- Right or up for faster, left or down for slower. Move slowly for fine steps.
- Tap the dots at the top
- Adds a beat to the bar (1 to 7; after 7 comes 1). Swipe right or up for more beats, left or down for fewer. With 1, there is no accent.

The tempo goes from 30 to 300 BPM. Your tempo and beats per bar are saved automatically and are there next time.
Frequently asked questions
I can't hear it, or it's too quiet
Turn the volume up with the buttons on the side of your iPhone. It plays even with the silent switch on. If Bluetooth headphones or a speaker are connected, it plays through them. On the iPhone's own speaker, point the speaker (at the bottom edge of the iPhone) towards you and place the phone near ear height, for example on a music stand.
Does it keep playing when the screen is locked?
Yes. It keeps playing when you lock the screen or open another app. To stop, open the app and tap the circle. While it plays, the screen does not turn off by itself.
Can I use it with a music app?
Yes. It plays along with music from other apps without stopping it, so you can practise along with a song.
It stopped by itself
A phone call, Siri, an alarm or another interruption stops it, and it does not start again by itself afterwards. Unplugging wired headphones also stops it, so that it never suddenly plays out loud through the speaker. Connecting a Bluetooth device does not stop it.
The circle and the sound seem out of step
The circle pulses at the moment each click is heard, allowing for the delay of Bluetooth devices as iOS reports it. On some devices the reported delay differs from the real one, and the two may look slightly out of step.
Does the tempo drift over a long time?
No. The position of every beat is worked out where the sound is made, so the timing does not drift however long it plays.
The circle doesn't grow; only its brightness changes
With Reduce Motion on, the beat is shown by brightness instead of size. You can change this in Settings → Accessibility → Motion.
Does it work with VoiceOver?
The circle is a Start / Stop button, and the tempo and beats per bar are values you adjust by swiping up or down. Tapping a tempo needs rhythmic tapping, so it is not available with VoiceOver; use − / + instead.
Does it collect any data?
No. The app collects no data and never goes online on its own. Only when you tap the ⓘ at the top left does it open this page, in Safari inside the app. See the Privacy Policy.
